Alienware may wait on producing gaming tablets
Recently Pocket-lint spoke to Alienware product manager Eoin Leyden about producing a tablet developed specifically for playing PC games, perhaps following in the footsteps of Razer's Project Fiona which features bolted-on controllers on both sides of the device.

“We have discussed [tablets] a couple of times.” Eoin said. “There are issues and limitations that make it difficult to see that would appeal to our core audience right now.”

The biggest issue thus far, according to Leyden, is transferring the hard core gaming experience to a touch-based environment. Playing Angry Birds on a tablet device makes sense, but installing the likes of World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 doesn't given they depend on numerous commands assigned to the keyboard. How would that multi-key setup translate to a touch-based environment?

“The issue is the input mechanism and how the game uses the input mechanisms and turns them into in-game actions,” he said.

Instead of taking Razer's route and bolting on two controllers donning thumbsticks and buttons, Leyden believes a different approach needs to be made. One example includes installing eye tracking technology that would allow players to control their character simply by eye movement.

But to be honest, input shouldn't be an issue at this point for Alienware: just look at what Asus did with its Transformer tablets, adding two USB 2.0 ports and an additional battery to the dock. If the company wants to address the hard core PC gamer, this would seemingly be the way to go… at least in the input department.

That said, Alienware seems to be holding out on a gaming tablet simply based on the performance of current SoCs. Both smartphones and tablets are quickly evolving, mirroring a decade of rapid PC evolution that started with 3DFX cranking out the first GPU. As Pocket-lint points out, more cores, more RAM and bigger GPUs get dumped into the devices every year. What was once top-of-the-line yesterday is obsolete tomorrow, yet today's tablet configurations aren't at an acceptable level to don the high-class Alienware branding.

“From a performance point of view tablets are on an accelerated curve,” he said. “They aren't quite there yet though.”
I hope the above information about the latest gadgets tablet computers can provide the knowledge for you about the latest developments tablet computer. The price of the tablet PC depending on the brand, model and specifications.

teXet TM-7025 lacks the kitchen sink
If there is such a thing as a perfect tablet in this world, then what you see above could very well be it. I am talking about the teXet TM-7025, where this particular tablet retails for just a couple of Benjamins, running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with the promise of Ice Cream Sandwich coming later. Underneath the hood lies a Boxchip A10 Cortex A8 1GHz processor that is accompanied by 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and a 3D accelerator that ought to pack some punch into your viewing experience. The display is on the smaller end of the spectrum, weighing in at just 7″ in 800 x 480 resolution, but at least you can always load up Full HD movies on this and play it on your HDTV via HDMI. Apart from that, if you really need the additional space, the teXet TM-7025 will let you hook up a 500GB hard drive without the need to tote around an extra power supply, while a 1TB hard drive would require such an accompaniment.

Other specifications of teXet's effort include Wi-Fi connectivity, a VGA front-facing camera, a 3,100 mAh Li-Ion battery, and a miniUSB port – all crammed into a chassis that is just 12.1mm thin. Out in Russia now, it should arrive elsewhere in the world soon. Does this mean it is due for an appearance over at the FCC?

Motorola XYBOARD 8.2 and 10.1 updates from Verizon arrive
Verizon Wireless has already introduced the latest software updates for both the Motorola Droid XYBOARD 8.2 and XYBOARD 10.1 tablets (we have reviewed the two of them already, where you can read it here and here). As with any other update, you can expect a bunch of improvements, and this time around, global roaming is supported. Basically, this translates to the ability to connect to the Internet regardless of where your XYBOARD travels with you over a 4G network – as long as it is supported in that part of the world, that is, and also be prepared to be slapped with a rather shocking roaming fee at the end of the month. Something tells me that this is going to be a service used only in extreme emergencies, where you have exhausted all other avenues of getting online. On the other hand, when you are overseas, chances are you will fall back on Wi-Fi connectivity most of the time.

Apart from that, this update will also deliver improved scrolling in the web browser, a superior touch response, wireless improvements, as well as the ability to use the keyboard whenever the tablet is placed within a docking station. You can read about the XYBOARD 8.2 update here and the XYBOARD 10.1 update here.

The British retailer is offering the AT200 16GB for £399 (about $631), and the AT200 32GB for £449 (about $710). A bit pricey, I'd say. Anyway, you can buy the tablets only online (here) for now - but starting February 15 Carphone Warehouse's physical shops will have it, too.

Unfortunately, the A200 is running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. But an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available at some point.

Netbook Navigator tablet runs on Windows 7
The tablet market is more or less dominated by just two operating systems – Android of Google and iOS from Apple's stable, but it seems as though Microsoft still has an extremely small voice in this niche (a squeak, actually), with their Windows 7 platform, although Windows 8 might just change the landscape altogether. It will take a whole lot of convincing from Microsoft to developers to support a Windows-powered tablet. Still, we shall take a closer look at what Microsoft has in store with Netbook Navigator's Windows 7 (choose from Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate versions) powered tablet.

Running on an Intel Atom N570 1.66GHz dual-core processor with a base price of $499.99 (sans operating system), you will also find it equipped with a 10.1″ display at 1366 x 768 resolution, 2GB RAM, a 16GB solid state disk, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, two USB ports, a microSD memory card slot, a SIM card slot, a 3-cell battery and stereo speakers, with the possibility of throwing more dough in this direction to up the ante to 128GB of storage space and 3G connectivity.

New Asus TF300T tablet gets leaked
Apparently Asus feels like there's room for another tablet in its lineup. That's because a new, previously unseen and unheard of Asus tablet (presumably running Android) has showed up on the Internet.

Its model number is TF300T, the pictures below show you what it looks like, and that's really all we know about it. So let's speculate based on that model number.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime has the model number TF201, and the recently unveiled revamped edition of that tablet (with fixes for connectivity issues through a redesigned back plate and with a higher-res screen) has the model number TF700T.

Now this newly leaked gadget obviously stands somewhere in between those two, at least in Asus' vision. Then again, the company's model numbers don't make much sense. The TF700T is basically just a minor revision of the TF201, so why the huge jump in number there? TF202, or even TF201T (since the original lacks that final “T” anyway) would have made a lot more sense.

So the TF300T could be anything. It could be a lower-end companion to the two Primes, which is something that makes sense from a business perspective. Or it may be something else entirely. Sadly, the only thing we can do is wait and see.
I hope the above information about the latest gadgets tablet computers can provide the knowledge for you about the latest developments tablet computer. The price of the tablet PC depending on the brand, model and specifications.
