Acer's affordable Iconia Tab A200 tablet was supposed to be released in the US on January 15. However, it's only now (January 20) that it's actually available for purchase. Only Best Buy seems to have the Iconia Tab A200 in stock for the moment. The retailer is asking $349.99 for the tablet's 16GB model – go here to buy it. The 8GB model, which should cost $329.99, is not available yet (but I assume it will be soon). The Acer Iconia Tab A200 features a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, Facebook and Twitter integration, USB (full size), 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 2MP front-facing camera. The tablet currently runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but it will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich starting mid February.

Acer has officially announced the newest addition to the company's Iconia Tab lineup, the A200. The 10.1-inch device runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb with an Ice Cream Sandwich update slated for mid-February. The A200 features NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor with a 1280 x 800-pixel display and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Additionally, the device features a microSD slot, 1GB RAM, a full sized USB 2.0 port and eight hours of battery life. That rumored Acer Iconia Tab A700 tablet has been finally spotted in some photos, allowing us to see that it doesn't look too different from the already announced Iconia Tab A200. Unlike the A200, though, the A700 has a camera on the back (5MP with flash), a quad-core processor (Nvidia Tegra 3), and a 10.1 inch display with a higher resolution: 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA). Other features: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headset jack, Dolby Mobile sound, MicroUSB, Micro HDMI, front-facing camera, and a 9,800 mAh battery. The Acer Iconia Tab A200 recently went on sale in the UK, and it looks like the tablet has an older sibling in the works. According to a Russian mobile site, NoMobile.ru, there is going to be a new Acer tablet that will make its debut next month at CES 2012 - the Acer Iconia Tab A700. The tablet will be thinner than the A200, and will feature a 10.1″ (1920 x 1200) display, the Tegra 3 processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera with built in flash and a touted battery life of 10 hours. The tablet will features SIM card and MicroUSB slots, a dedicated rotation lock switch, volume buttons, an audio jack, and a micro-HDMI port. If you're in the UK and have been waiting for Acer's new and affordable Android tablet to become available, the wait is finally over. With a slight caveat.

The Acer Iconia Tab A200, which was announced at the beginning of this month, can now be ordered in the UK. It is quite a bit cheaper than similar tablets, but it will be shipping “by January 6, 2012″. We don't know if that “by” in there is supposed to mean that there's a small chance you'll get it earlier than January 6, but we wouldn't risk hoping for that. So just assume it will be at your doorstep in ten days.

As for the price, it's £299 as you can see, which is about £100 cheaper than similarly specced tablets. That said, those similar offerings do usually come with 16 GB of built-in storage, whereas the Iconia Tab A200 only has 8 GB. And it doesn't have a rear camera, like the competition (yet it does come with a front-facing unit for video calls and such). So take that into account when deciding whether to purchase one or not.

Because aside from that, this is basically your run of the mill Android tablet. The Nvidia Tegra 2 processor is in there, as are 1 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth support, a 10.1-inch 1280×800 touchscreen, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5 mm headset jack.

A few days ago we wrote about the Acer Iconia Tab A200 being leaked through a promo video, well now it looks like Acer has officially announced the tablet. The A200 will be an Android tablet powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 dual-core processor. It will pack 1GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB of internal storage, a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 display, and will feature a 3,260mAh battery (400 hours standby, 8 hours of video). The tablet will measure 8.3mm thick and will weigh 720g.

The Acer Iconia Tab A200 will be preloaded with Android Honeycomb, but an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich is promised to arrive not long after its release. The tablet will feature Acer's own software i.e. the Acer Ring (which improves multi-tasking), Screenshot (for quickly capturing and sharing what's onscreen), and Acer Clear.fi (it's own version of DLNA). The tablet also features a full size USB port and a microSD card slot for external storage. A 2-megapixel front facing camera completes the package.

No word of when it'll go on sale in the US, but the A200 is said to ship out with Ice Cream Sandwich worldwide in January 2012.
